We’ve yet to find a client who doesn’t love a massage from Younique Centre of Beauty. Combining both a relaxing environment with the professional techniques of our skilled staff, massage at Younique is always equal parts relaxing and effective at reducing muscle pain and tension. 

We offer a variety of massage styles in order to suit different needs and preferences including hot stone massage, aromatherapy massage, and various back polish/exfoliation treatments.

For some clients, experiencing a massage that is solely dedicated to reducing muscle pain is preferred. For other clients, enjoying both a massage and a skin rejuvenating treatment is ideal. We offer three styles of hot stone massage: Soothing basalt hot stone massage, back basalt hot stone massage, and back polish hot stone massage.

With all three styles, hot stones are placed on the body to help reduce tension without having to put extra—often painful—pressure on the body. The result is the melting of tension while increasing circulation. 

If soothing scents sound appealing, we recommend our aromatherapy options. You’ll find that these massages tend to be more like Swedish massages, providing more “feel good” chemicals to the body. 

In general, if you’re experiencing a lot of tension, we recommend our hot stone options since the heat will greatly help with easing tension. For general relaxation, our aromatherapy options are best.

If you’re not familiar with massage, here are some of the things you can expect from your experience with us:

• Before your massage begins, you’ll address muscle soreness and tension with your therapist to make sure your relaxation and the effectiveness of your massage are optimal. 
• Your massage will take place in a comfortable, soothing environment where the ambience will make you feel as if you’ve been transported to a relaxing oasis with dim lights, aromatherapy, and soft music to enhance your experience. 
• During your treatment, you’ll undergo a series of massage techniques that will release tension to promote wellness and increase your physical wellbeing.
• Essential oils will also be used to help you ease stress and unwind.

Please keep in mind, each massage will be slightly different depending on whether or not you book a hot stone or aromatherapy massage. 

This will vary from person to person depending on how much tension you were holding in your body combined with what style of massage you opted for. 

In general, most people do feel relaxed after their massage with a significant decrease in tension. Having said that, if you booked your massage because of intense pain or soreness, you might find that you’re still slightly sore after your massage. This is because massage triggers the release of lactic acid from the muscles (similar to how you might feel after a workout). 

Despite the soreness, almost all clients discover they have more energy and mobility after their massage. 

Aromatherapy works by harnessing the power of the sense of smell. This can be achieved through lotions, creams, diffusers, body sprays, oils, and even bathing salts. 

At Younique Centre of Beauty, we specifically make use of powerful essential oils during our aromatherapy treatments. 

With each treatment, you’ll notice that we use a different combination of oils. This is because each oil provides a different benefit, and different people respond differently to each oil. 

When you start discussing your problem areas, we will be able to tell you what oils will best work for you. 

For instance, if you’re struggling with stress, we’ll often use lavender essential oil to help relax you. If you have tension, we might use ylang ylang. Rose oil is often used if you have dry skin, and anything citrusy often invigorates the body and senses. 

The benefits of aromatherapy are vast, especially when used in combination with the professional massage techniques practiced at Younique Centre of Beauty.

While we think any massage and body treatment can be beneficial, for those who are really struggling to relax and ease tension, we always recommend trying out one of the aromatherapy treatments offered at Younique Centre of Beauty. 

We have two aromatherapy options: a full-body treatment or a treatment that specifically targets the back. 

With both options, the goal is to ease tension, release “feel good” chemicals, and detoxify the body of any harmful toxins. 

You will find that with the full-body option, we’ll be able to fully address all areas that carry tension, which can be nice for those who have physically demanding jobs. On the other hand, if you’re someone who works at a desk all day, you might find that most of your tension is carried in the back area. If this is you, we recommend our back aromatherapy option.

We are happy to report that there are very few side effects associated with aromatherapy. 

Having said that, because we’re using essential oils, which carry a strong scent, there always is some possibility you might not react well to a certain scent. 

This is why we’re always careful to go over each scent with you prior to the start of your massage. This is also why we always ask about any allergies or sensitivities since oils are rubbed directly on the skin. 

Also, please note that essential oils in the purest form are not applied directly to the skin. This is often too harsh and can cause a reaction. We dilute all of our oils with a pure carrier oil to increase effectiveness and safety. 

Aromatherapy is for anyone looking to relax and soothe muscle tension. 

Because each oil has a different benefit, we can customize your session to target your specific concerns. For instance, if you’re prone to headaches, we will consider this when choosing oils. If anxiety is a top concern, we’ll consider this as well. 

In other words, aromatherapy can be beneficial for many people who all have unique concerns that they wish to address.  

Keep in mind, if you are sensitive to smells and generally don’t enjoy strong scents, aromatherapy might not be for you. While we only use the highest-quality oils, some people still find the scents to be too strong and irritating.
