How many laser hair removal treatments do I need?

Here at Younique Centre of Beauty, we understand that every client is different, which is why the number of treatments will depend on the area of hair removal and how coarse your hair is. However, most clients tend to start seeing results within 2 treatments.

Once the hair is completely removed, most of our clients will not experience any hair growth anywhere from several months to years. However, should the hair grow back, it will be much finer and lighter than previous.

Are there any side effects to laser hair removal?
While laser hair removal is a painless and non-invasive medical spa treatment, side effects can occur depending on the client. These side effects are minor and typically last anywhere from 1 to 3 days. Minor side effects include:
- Discomfort
- Swelling on the treated area
- Redness
- Irritation
In the unlikely event, some clients may experience more severe side effects such as:
- Blistering of the skin
- Lightening or darkening of the skin
- Scarring
To ensure side effects do not occur, it is extremely important that clients follow our aftercare instructions listed below to ensure their health and safety and to maximize the results of their laser hair removal treatment.
How long do I have to wait between laser hair removal treatments?

The time between treatments again will vary depending on the area treated and the client. With that being said, clients can expect to wait a total of 4 to 6 weeks before booking their following appointments. Your licensed medical aesthetician will inform you at your appointment when you should book your next appointment so you can plan in advance. Your aesthetician will also let you know how long you should wait between treatments to avoid seeing any hair regrowth during your rest period.

What should I do after my laser hair removal treatment?
To ensure that clients experience optimal results following their laser hair removal appointments, it is crucial that they listen and follow our aftercare instructions. This will also help ensure that you avoid any side effects that may occur. Therefore, following your laser hair removal appointment, you should:
- Avoid going in direct sunlight for at least 1 to 2 days.
- Avoid using a tanning bed until your skin has healed.
- Avoid excessive sweating to prevent any infections or irritation of the treated skin.
- Do not put on any moisturizers and/or deodorant on the treated area until the skin has healed to prevent any skin irritation.
Following your appointment, the treated area will appear as though you have a sunburn. Therefore, you are encouraged to apply a cold compress to reduce swelling and provide some comfort to any irritation that may occur.
Am I a good candidate for laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is a medical spa treatment that has proven safe and effective for most clients. However, if you have any underlying medical conditions or are on any medications that affect your skin, we ask that you consult with your doctor before booking your treatment. We also recommend that clients who are pregnant avoid laser hair removal. Cancer patients should also avoid laser hair removal.
